“And just what would you call the scene at the campsite then?” Mark’s words slammed into her forehead bringing with them a gut wrenching, minds-eye vision of the hastily glimpsed blood, dismemberment and devastation he'd witnessed as he raced through the camp less than an hour before—sharing it with her as fully and clearly as if she had been there herself.
He knew the Stalkers—shared a poker game, fishing tournament or church pew with more than one. Like them or not—he knew them. He knew their families and friends, and had even shared a courtroom with one of the lawyers and the judge on occasion—good men both, and, like Mark and Dillon, committed to a life of honorably serving both the people and the law.
“It doesn’t matter—demon or beast—whatever the hell it is…it’s gonna die tonight.”
